ABOUT CLOVERPOINT
Independent, founder-owned
Cloverpoint was established as the dedicated entity to manage the Core Alpha public equity strategies launched at Cloverfields Capital in 2020.
The Cloverpoint Core Alpha approach is the result of decades spent investing at Single Family Offices and advising Endowments and Foundations. After observing the long-term results of many multi-manager public equity programs, it became clear that while talented fund managers had excellent Gross of fee performance, fees, fund expenses, taxes, overdiversification, and illiquidity took far too much away from the ultimate net return. Further, when multiple managers are combined, the aggregate portfolio can begin to resemble the market itself, minimizing the impact of any individual manager's skill.
We concluded that long-term outperformance requires a strategy built around high-conviction stocks, combined with low fees, tax efficiency, style diversification, and daily or intraday liquidity.
Since we couldn't find a strategy that met our needs, we created our own. Drawing from our network and experience evaluating long-only and hedge fund managers, we created a process to identify the high conviction stocks from managers we think are capable of producing alpha. We then apply Portfolio Construction concepts to enable a portfolio that is concentrated by number of stocks, but diversified by source and investment style.
By concentrating capital in the most compelling opportunities across a diverse set of expert managers, Core Alpha strategies seek to deliver higher alpha, better portfolio efficiency, and superior long-term returns versus traditional multi-fund allocation models.
